Need to find film history information? Locate films or videotapes? Find out what’s screening at the PFA Theater? Then come to the Pacific Film Archive Open House, and learn about the many ways you can tap into this valuable resource:
- Go behind the scenes at the PFA Library for a tour of our facilities, which house more than 7,600 books on film and video, 36,000 still photographs, 7,600 film posters, 15,000 periodical issues, and 95,000 clippings files of reviews, press kits, interviews, festival programs, and other film-related documents.
- Join us as we unveil the updated CineFiles online database―a repository of documents covering more than a century of film history. Take a tour of the newly redesigned CineFiles website, and learn how to mine the rich collection for rare and interesting documents.
- Meet and mingle with the PFA programming staff. Learn about the Fall 2009 exhibition schedule, and get a sneak preview of what’s planned for Spring 2010.
- Watch 16mm films selected from the 10,000 film and video titles in the PFA Collection.
- Enjoy food and drink, and meet other students, scholars, and cinephiles.
