Make a Mini Museum

Ages 6 to 12 with accompanying adult

  • With artist Raphael Noz

Artist and educator Raphael Noz holds an MS degree in education from Wheelock College and an MFA from California College of the Arts. His art spans painting, sculpture, performance, photography, and social interaction, and has been exhibited at venues including BAMPFA, San Francisco Maritime Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, and in Bay Area Now 7 (BAN7) at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. He has been a guest lecturer at California College of The Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, and Cal State Chico.

Family Fare connects art viewing with art making in ways that engage both young people and their grown-ups. Participate in guided viewing and discussion in the galleries with a UC Berkeley graduate-student guide and then explore related ideas in the Art Lab with an experienced teaching artist. Each session focuses on a different group of artworks and related hands-on activities. In this session, get inspired by Dada artist Marcel Duchamp’s Boîte, a box containing small-scale replicas of his own artwork. Create a box of your own with artist Raphael Noz: assemble an art exhibition from your imagination and make a mini museum!
